Market Research-NME (contents page)

L-Unlike most other magazines for the contents page, NME has used more imagery than text. At the very top of the page is a masthead reading 'Inside This Week' which is something different and more eye-catching than 'contents', the text is in black and bold writing. For the main story's inside NME they have put pictures to advertise them more, also including the page number and quotes from the interviews. The contents page for NME aims to specifically advertise the main storys, but also has a section almost in the centre of page reading 'Plus' which shows the extra articles and stories that are included in the magazine. Although the pictures on the contents page are set out in quite a dis-organized way it makes it look as if there is more going on because every space is filled with something. On the other hand, the contents page doesnt link with the front cover, the only clue that shows the contents page is part of this issue is because the word glastobury is seen as a headline, there is no colour scheme kept as the only colour on the contents page is from the photo's because the background is white and all of the text is black.

I-The institution for Nme magazine is IPC media.

I-The ideological views of NME's contents page is inform the reader about the main headlines which are inside the magazine.

A-The target audience would be teenagers and young adults.

R-NME has tried representing their target audience by making the contents page vibrant and full of relevant images and features, instead of filling the page with writing. The images of artists with less writing give the page a relaxed feeling.
