Market Research-Clash (front cover)

'Clash' magazine is a monthly magazine which focuses on many different music genre's, from Jay-z to Iggy Pop.

Starting from the very top of the page, they magazine has placed a banner headline, with two different points. One of the points is in white and the other is lime green, considering this isnt the most important thing on the cover they've made it stand out, because only a few other things on the page are white and lime green so it contrasts. Underneath the banner headline is the masthead 'clash' which is in a large, bold, easy to read font. The masthead stands out very well, because, like the white and lime green, the pink had been used for the colour of other things too. On the right, next to the masthead a puff has been placed, reading, 'Best for Less! £2.99', so even though the magazine is fairly cheap for a monthly magazine, by having an artist like Iggy Pop on the cover, it shows they can can afford celebrities such as him on the cover therefore showing they are a popular magazine, they puff is also used to advertise the price to the public to get more people to buy it. As ive just explained, Iggy pop is on the cover. The picture is a mid-shot with a grey back ground which takes up the whole of the front cover. In the photo, he looks very angry, he is also topless with his arms in the air and hands shaped like devil horns on his head, this could be a hint as to what the interview will be like inside, so it is more likely that the answers he's given are personal and about bad things he may have done. Underneath the main focus of Iggy Pop's face, on the bottom half of his body a bold headline reading 'Death, Drugs & David Bowie - Iggy and The stoogoes - The inside story of rock's ultimate hedonists' has been placed, this is to tell us that the man on the cover is Iggy Pop and he is the main focus of this months magazine. 'Death, Drugs & David Bowie', is in a white font in a pink banner around it, this will stand out for the readers. The 'Iggy and The Stooges', is a green for it to attract the readers. Underneath, 'The inside story of rock's ultimate hedonist', is in a white and all in capitals to show that he's actually 'rock's ultimate hedonist'. On each side of Iggy Pop, small headlines have been placed to inform the reader on other stories inside. All of the headlines are in a white font apart from certain words in two headlines, which are pink, this helps the page come together because the masthead is in pink also. On the right hand side on the page a big pink cross has been placed, this connotates that there is 'more' in the magazine.
At the bottom right of the page they have placed the price, the bar code and the URL. This is for the readers to find out more on the website, what month the magazine is, and how much it is.

I-Clash magazine is produced by the dynamic independent media group. The music company covers all genre's of music, but clash is the only magazine published within the company.

I-Clash magazine believes in giving people what they want in music, which is why they cover all music genre's. They also believe in just telling the audience relevent things and edit out bad press.

A-Clash magazine is aimed at many ages of people, from teenagers to older generations of adults, this is because they convey all genre's of music, and a different artist is on the cover every month, advertising to different people.

R-The Clash magazine represent any genre choice. There is also a lot of different things going on, on the cover which reflects that the inside interviews and informations are exactly the same.
