Market Research-Clash (double page spread)
Clash magazine's main interview is of Iggy and The Stooges
The first picture is the left hand side of the double page and is the actual interview of the band, and the second page is the right hand side and includes a picture of Iggy Pop. If it wasnt for the picture of Iggy Pop in the double page spread, it would be hard to link the story with the front cover because of the colours, none of them link with the original colour scheme of the front cover and the contents. Instead the colour scheme links more to Iggy Pop and the band its self because it uses black as the background with white and red writing. The page also links with just the picture of Iggy Pop on the front cover because black suggests darkness and evil and so does the picture because of the devil horns. The title of the first page is 'Raw power' which suggests that Iggy Pop's talent is 'raw' because a figure of him has been placed into the 'a' this picture is also the one shown on the second page. The title has been divided from the rest of the text, which is also in red which suggest danger. In between the title and text there has been a brief summary about Iggy Pop placed specifically for the readers who dont really know much about him. Like many articles, the first letter of the text has been dropped and put into a large bold letter. The letter is also the same red as the title which shows they've kept the colour scheme throughtout the double spread. On the other half of the double page spread, they have placed a picture of Iggy performing coverinng the full page, this is effective because it helps the readers identify him as a performer. It also represents his personality, because he's dancing and having a good time.
I-Clash magazine is produced and published by a dynamic independent media group. This group only publishes Clash magazine, therefore ensuring readers that the magazine will be worth reading because they have a company working on just one thing.
I-Clash magazine believe in getting all the information out of artists as possible to include in their stories, but they edit out inappropriate language so the magazine is suitable for a younger audience.
A-Clash Magazine is aimed from teenagers to the older generation of adults, this page shows this by producing a spread informing the generation about a music legend.
R-The double page spread represents a darker side to Iggy Pop and The Stooges, you can see this because of they colours they've used such as black and red. The Main photo of the article also shows Iggy dancing, which is not something people of his age would usually do a lot, this tells us that from the article Iggy wants to advertise that the older generation can still do the things that he does, no matter how old they are.

Jade,
ReplyDeleteYour work looks goos so far - it's extremely detailed and thorough.
I'm a bit concerned that you might be falling a little behind, as you've still got another anlysis to do before you complete step 4 of the checklist. Ideally, I would like you to aim to be working at around steps 6 / 7 by the beginning of next week.
Good luck with the rest of the courswork,
Emma x
