Initial Ideas.

To come up with the several different names for my magazine i searched the internet, read articles and also looked at names of different albums. I think all of these names would be good for my genre of magazine because they all give off a sense of excitement and originality which is what i want the magazine to have a sense of. For the front cover i want to usea midshot photo of a band (one which i already arranged to take pictures of) with the front woman of the band being closest to the camera, to show that she is the lead member of the band, and also to connotate that the interview inside will be upclsoe and personal. The photo on the cover is also of the full band because the interview is going to unclude questions for each member and not just one. I have already decided that the backdrop for my photo's are going to be green, as i want my colour scheme to be green, grey, black and white, all of these colours contrast with eachother to make each one stand out. I want to use the same colour scheme throughout the magazine, but on the contents page i dont want to use the green, as the green is to do with the band, and the contents page isnt specifically about the band, it's about advertising the rest of the pages in the magazine. I am going to place the masthead at the top of the page on the right, going to the left taking over the full width of the page, and if the masthead happens to come in contact with any of the band members faces in the photo, i want the face to be on top of the masthead.

On the contents page, i am going to use one photo of the band on the cover to adveritse them again, as well as photo's of other bands that will be inside the magazine. Im also going to include a paragraph or so, written by me, the editor, which will give my own opinion on working with the band. I think this is a good idea because you will get to read someone elses opinion on the band too. The articles with more importance will also have a brief summary or a quote from the interview to go with their picture. As ive already explained, i am going to keep the colour scheme the same for the cover and the double page spread. The headline will be on the first page in the top left corner, with a brief summary of the band underneath. The interview will then include questions from me, as well as questions 'sent in' from fans. Throughout the page, different pictures of each band member will be placed. Quotes will also be around some sections of the page, so the reader will see these interesting quotes first, then will want to read the article.
